The 3rd county of our travelling campus was Nyandarua County.
Here we arrived at around 5pm aboard 4 buses courtesy of our transport partners Easycoach Limited.
Before reaching Nyandarua, Participants made brief stop overs in Kericho county-Kenya’s leading tea zone,Nakuru County where participants had a chance of touring Kariandusi Pre historic site that is preserved as one of the cradle of mankind .This tour of Kariandusi was made possible courtesy of the partnership between GPAY and Kenya National Museums during the Cinemadamare Africa Chapter program in the 5 counties.
After an exciting experience at Kariandusi, the participants were treated to a local delicacy and local brew at a local resort hosted by former Chief retired Mr. Kehancha. It was indeed a unique stopover moment after a long and tiresome journey of 7 hours from Kisumu.
From here the participants were energized to proceed with the remaining part of the journey whis was about 60 kilometres to Nyandarua-Ol Kalou town.
The team arrived at to a rousing welcome by the county officials led by the director-youth sports and culture Nyandarua county who we were in constant communication with.
Accommodation venue was set at Kalou Girls Secondary School that is barely half a kilometer to Ol Kalou town.
That evening there was an orientation session by the county officials,security team and GPAY staff with the participants.
The county officials led by the county director of culture Mr. david …… took the entire team through what they needed to know as far as their week long stay in the county is concerned.The security Chief ,OCPD …… also outline the security arrangements that they have deployed to ensure both lives and properties of every participant is assured.
After all the orientation that was also characterized by questions and answers from the participants, all were welcome to dinner prepared in honor of the whole team.
